The Historic City of
Lincoln
About 30 minutes
drive from your forest lodge is the
historic
City of
Lincoln. Beautiful
cobbled streets, William the Conquerer's castle and
Lincoln Cathedral join forces with a vibrant and
colourful modern shopping and eating
scene.
Louth
A pretty market town with an abundance of
specialty food shops. Market days are Wednesdays, Fridays
and Saturdays so Louth is well worth a visit for local
produce at great prices. It's only a few minutes drive from
your lodge and you can't miss the landmark tower of St.
James's Church which stands around 300ft. Also, a walk up
the canal's towpaths is a great way to spend some of your
time here and burn off the pub grub.
Horncastle
On the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds is
the Roman town of Horncastle. Browse in the many bric a
brac and antique shops. In 2001 Horncastle was voted best
antiques town in the country.
Sutton-On-Sea
Sutton -On-Sea is a
peaceful seaside resort with miles of golden beaches.
Entertainment for all the family with tennis bowls and
safe paddling /fun pool for the younger
children.
Mablethorpe
The place to visit here is the Mablethorpe Seal Sanctuary and Nature
Centre.
Skegness
Skegness is a popular seaside
town with entertainment for everyone. South of Skegness
is Gibraltar Point nature reserve, here
birdwatchers can watch from hides.
